Saturday Work Day

We have lived here in this apartment for over 10 months now. I work and move very slowly, so unpacking takes quite some time. Most of the apartment is set up, but there is still a hideous corner in our bedroom. It's a mess of boxes still to be unpacked and piles of stuff with no place to go.

For several months, this is what I saw while resting in bed.
Not the most relaxing view!

I have slowly been working on this corner. I have made a little bit of progress, but still have a ways to go.

Today, this is the portion of the mess Will is helping me to tackle.

I am so ready to have a neat, organized, and relaxing bedroom! My goal is to have everything cleaned up, organized, and ready before the baby comes. I have about five months to go. It's a big project, but I think I can get it done in time.

  2. I am so glad to see you posting! I've been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing! Good luck with your project! I've been having some health issues this Summer and I am not suppose to do anything too strenuous! My doctor has said no house cleaning and as nice at it seemed at first, it's driving me crazy!! Hubby just doesn't get it cleaned like I am use to and I have to say it makes me frustrated to just sit and look at the mess! So I can relate a little!

Let us know how you and baby are doing! You are still in my prayers!!

  3. Thanks, Jen!

I've been extra tired lately, which is why I haven't been blogging. Praise the Lord for a burst of energy today, though. I have gotten a LOT accomplished!!! Updated pictures will be coming soon.

  4. Good work, Will and Rachel! My motto for two past two years was "Progress, Not Perfection". It helped! I applaud any progress you are able to make, because you are that much closer to accomplishing your goal. A little bit, often, does amazing things!

  5. What do you call your 'curtains'? I like the new ones! Did you make them with your special technique? So glad you got some cleaning done today with Will. :) It is soooo hard to tackle that stuff and it does weigh us down. My room is staying clean, but my study is now the dumping ground!!!!
BTW, got the movie back in the mail already! And love your comments on my always crack me up! And yes, I'm accepting possible names for my chair! :)
Glad you got a burst of energy. I hope the pool was good too!
    I've missed your blogging. :(

  6. Hi, Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. I hope you have a good day. Congrats on the new arrival in December:D What a fantastic Christmas present!

  7. Hi Rachel,

You posted above me on today's SITS roll call. I'm glad I found your blog! I checked out your website to learn more about your condition. I stand amazed that you are raising a child (a BOY no less!!!! hehe) while coping with something that makes you feel weak and tired all of the time. And did I just see in your blog that you are expecting a second? Amazing. TruLY. I have one child, a 7-month-old girl, and she wears me right out! I'm going to follow your blog as I really admire your strength and am interested in learning more about how things go as your little guy gets older!!!!

  8. Stopping by from SITS to invite you to our raffle. Grand Prize George Foreman Grill and 5 runner up prizes Clear2Go Water Filtration bottles.

  9. visiting from sits! Good luck with the cleaning I loooove to de-clutter.

  10. Looks great! Good for you- I need to do some of that myself! I bet your nesting instincts are starting to kick in, aren't they? I've lived with boxes for months at a time before and the view can be just draining, so I'm glad you'll feel more relaxed while chillin' in your room! I hope you're feeling good!
