Books for 2011

My brain fog hasn't been as bad recently, so I am going to try to read some good books this summer and fall.  I have finished reading The Chasm by Randy Alcorn and Betrayed by Stan Telchin.  This spring I read Fighting for Dear Life by Attorney David Gibbs III.  I highly recommend this book if you want to know the true story behind the life and death Terri Schiavo.

Currently I am reading If God Is Good by Randy Alcorn and A Walk Through Psalms.  Other books still on the list for this summer and fall are:

Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands by Paul David Tripp
Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand
The Cup and the Glory by Greg Harris
Lose the Halo, Keep the Wings: Great Advice for Minister's Wives by Virginia Wilson
Managing God's Money by Randy Alcorn

What is on your reading list for this year?  Are there any good books that you recommend?

Cubbies Graduate

We are proud of William for completing his second year of Awana Cubbies this year.  He has memorized more than 60 Bible verses for Cubbies, and he earned all of his patches!  Good work, William!  We are excited to see you learning and growing in the Lord.

Summer Garden

My favorite thing about summer is getting to plant a garden.  This is our third summer planting a flowerpot garden here at our apartment.  Will's favorites are the tomatoes; my favorites are the flowers and the okra.  Come walk through the garden with me.

Will's Tomatoes

Our Apartment

I love having a pathway to our apartment that is surrounded by flowers and plants.
Those are my okra plants on the right.

Flowers

More flowers
These are struggling because they don't get as much direct sun.

Plants at our front door

This is the view I have of our hanging plants while sitting on our window seat.  I like to sit on my window seat to look at the flowers.  Adelaide likes to sit with me and watch people and dogs walk by.

This is another view I have from my window seat.  I like watching the okra grow every day.  Okra plants grow so quickly.

An okra blossom.  Isn't it beautiful?  Okra blossoms only last one day; then they close up and an okra starts to grow.  Within a week it is ready to be picked.

Mommy's Little Helper

On a good day I usually try to get a load or two of laundry done, or at least started.  Doing laundry is one of the easier tasks because I can sit on the floor while sorting laundry and while putting it in and out of the washer and dryer.  The best part about doing laundry is that Adelaide loves to help me with it.

Adelaide has fun putting clothes in the washer. She literally does half the work for me!

Gettiing to push the start button is a big treat for Adelaide.

Look at this beautiful, silly girl!  She makes doing laundry so much fun!
