I
have joy because of Jesus Christ. I am a
sinner, and I deserve eternal punishment for my sins against a holy and eternal
God. But God, in His great mercy and
grace, chose to send His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sin, taking my
punishment for me. Jesus lived a perfect
life. He died a perfect death. He rose from the grave, conquering sin and
death. He did this for you and for me
because He loves us so much. Jesus is in
Heaven today preparing a place for all who believe on Him. One day He will return and call His children
home. What grace I have been given. What marvelous joy is now mine! And what marvelous joy can be yours too if
you only repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ!
“For
God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to
save the world through Him. Whoever
believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned
already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son”
(John 3:16-18, NIV).
I
have joy because of the promise of Heaven.
I know that this life is not all there is, and because I have trusted
Jesus as my Savior, I know that I have a home in Heaven. Anticipating the joy that awaits me in Heaven
gives me great joy even today as I live in a body that is broken.
I
have joy because of the many blessings I have been given. There are blessings that bring deep joy to my
soul. There are blessings that bring a
smile to my face. As the month goes on I
will share just a few of the blessings I have been given, blessings big and
small that bring me joy and happiness.
