As we pray for those with chronic illnesses, it is wise to pray not only for healing, as is our tendency, but to pray that God would accomplish His purposes through those illnesses.
I found this post on Randy Alcorn's blog to be very encouraging:
What to Pray for, Beyond Physical Healing
FYI, that link isn't working...
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know, Krista. I fixed the link, and it should be working again.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love Randy Alcorn! I so badly want the Lord to take diabetes away from Jada and I go through times where it's all I can think about. If I can quit navel gazing, I can see that He has something so much better in mind and that it's not all about my comfort and sanity. And, it's not about Jada having the ability to live a "comfortable" life- it's about doing what it takes to make us LIKE HIM! Thanks for sharing this Rachel! I'm always encouraged by your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love that. In the midst of anything, I think this should be our prayer- that God would accomplish His purposes- which really are so much greater than ours.
