Busy Hands: Overalls for Corduroy

One of Adelaide's favorite books is Corduroy. She loves hearing about Corduroy searching for his lost button, finding a friend, Lisa, having a new home with Lisa, and getting a new button. It delights her every time!

Last winter Adelaide had to stay in the hospital overnight due to complications from the flu. It was a scary and challenging time for a little 3 year old, but it ended well. Before leaving the hospital the nurses let her pick out a stuffed animal to take home. Adelaide chose a little bear that looked a lot like Corduroy!

The only problem was that he didn't have any overalls. He only had his fur coat! So we picked out some green yarn at Wal-Mart, and I crocheted some overalls for Corduroy. Adelaide helped me to pick out two white buttons for Corduroy's overalls.

Crocheting overalls for Corduroy kept my hands busy this spring as I rested in bed. Now Corduroy has overalls and two buttons, and Adelaide is one happy little girl!
